OWNRYDE ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY
Version 1.0 — Effective January 2025
OwnRyde maintains a strict Zero Tolerance Policy regarding drugs and alcohol, violence or threats, harassment or discrimination, sexual misconduct, criminal activity, weapons misuse, and unsafe or reckless driving.
Violations of this policy result in immediate suspension or permanent removal from the OwnRyde Platform. This policy applies equally to both Driver Members and Rider Members.
1. Drugs & Alcohol
1.1 Driver Members
Driver Members are strictly prohibited from:
- Operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs
- Operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol
- Possessing open containers of alcohol in the vehicle
- Using cannabis or intoxicating substances before or during driving
- Driving while impaired by prescription medication
Any violation results in immediate and permanent deactivation.
1.2 Rider Members
Rider Members may not:
- Bring open containers of alcohol into the vehicle
- Use or possess illegal drugs
- Pressure drivers to violate the law
- Enter a vehicle while dangerously intoxicated
Rider Members who pose a safety risk may be denied service and removed from the Platform.
2. Harassment & Misconduct
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:
- Verbal harassment or abuse
- Sexual comments, advances, or propositions
- Physical contact without consent
- Intimidation or bullying
- Threats or aggressive language
- Stalking or persistent unwanted contact
- Invasion of privacy
- Recording Drivers or Riders without consent
- Discrimination based on race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any protected category
Any harassment or misconduct will result in immediate investigation and removal.
3. Violence & Threats
OwnRyde has zero tolerance for:
- Physical violence
- Threats of violence
- Use, display, or brandishing of weapons
- Intentional property damage
- Aggressive or hostile behavior
Violent or threatening conduct results in immediate suspension and may be reported to law enforcement.
4. Weapons Policy
Members may carry weapons only if:
- Legally permitted under applicable law
- Properly concealed at all times
- Not displayed, referenced, or used to intimidate
Any brandishing, misuse, or threatening behavior involving a weapon results in permanent removal.
5. Unsafe Driving
Driver Members will be immediately suspended for:
- Reckless or dangerous driving
- Excessive speeding
- Swerving, tailgating, or distracted driving
- Using a handheld mobile phone while driving
- Ignoring traffic signals or road signs
- Falling asleep at the wheel
- Road rage incidents
Rider Members are encouraged to report unsafe driving immediately.
6. Reporting Zero Tolerance Violations
Violations must be reported immediately through one of the following:
- In-app Safety Report feature
- Email: support@ownryde.com
- Emergency situations: Call 911
Reports should include:
- Date and time of the incident
- Detailed description of what occurred
- Screenshots or photos (if available)
- License plate number or Driver/Rider name
All reports are investigated promptly.
7. Investigation Process
Upon receiving a report:
- The involved Member(s) may be temporarily suspended
- Trip data, GPS records, and communication logs are reviewed
- Statements may be requested from involved parties
- Based on findings, OwnRyde may decide to reinstate, permanently deactivate, or involve law enforcement
All enforcement decisions are final.
8. Protection Against Retaliation
Members who report violations in good faith are protected against retaliation.
Any form of retaliation, including harassment, threats, or intimidation, will result in immediate removal.
9. Member Acknowledgment
By using OwnRyde, all Members acknowledge and agree that:
- Drug and alcohol use is strictly prohibited
- Violence, harassment, and misconduct are not tolerated
- Unsafe behavior results in removal from the Platform
- Accounts may be suspended during investigations
- Violations may result in law enforcement involvement
- This policy applies equally to Driver Members and Rider Members
