About OwnRyde

A Private, Fair, Driver-First Rideshare — Built in Portland, Oregon

OwnRyde was born in Portland, Oregon — a city known for independence, fairness, and doing things differently. That spirit inspired us to build a rideshare platform with one simple promise:
Fairness should be the foundation of rideshare — not an afterthought.

Why the Rideshare System Is Broken

For years, rideshare corporations have taken more and more from the drivers who keep the wheels turning. Drivers work long hours, pay their own expenses, and still walk away with less than half of what riders pay. Riders, meanwhile, face surge pricing, cancellations, and unpredictable service.

The system stopped working for everyone — except the corporations.

A Rideshare Community — Not a Rideshare Corporation

OwnRyde is a private, membership-based rideshare platform where both riders and drivers are verified members. This creates a trusted, respectful, closed community — not an open marketplace of strangers.

Divider Statement

Just a community that works together — fairly.

Built for Drivers Who Deserve Better

Drivers have carried rideshare for over a decade while being squeezed financially at every turn. Many of us on the OwnRyde team have driven ourselves we know the reality.

Pain Points List

Driver Promise

OwnRyde puts drivers back in control.
Founding drivers can earn 80%–100% of every fare, keep more per ride, and work in a respectful community where they’re valued — not exploited.

Built for Riders Who Want Safety, Trust & Transparency

Because every rider is a verified member, you’re not stepping into a car with a random stranger. You’re riding with someone approved, vetted, and part of the same trusted community.
This is how rideshare should have always worked.

Our Mission

Our mission is to put drivers first and build a fair, community-driven alternative — a platform that restores trust, respects people, and reflects the spirit of Portland.

OwnRyde isn’t just another app — it’s a movement to bring fairness back to transportation.
